How Gastro Learning Turned Hybrid Medical Conferences into a Seamless Global Education Platform

Gastro Learning

The Challenge

For more than 20 years, Gastro Learning has been at the forefront of gastroenterology education, delivering live endoscopy courses that connect clinicians and showcase the latest advances in the field. Their flagship annual conference, London Live Endoscopy (LLE), is a cornerstone event in the global endoscopy community.

Coming out of COVID, Gastro Learning needed to ensure LLE remained a world-class hybrid experience: technically flawless, globally accessible, and visually aligned with their brand. Beyond LLE, they also required support for highly specialised sessions, such as the Oesophageal Neoplasia Masterclass (ONM) and their contribution to the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Annual Congress Days 2023. Each event brought its own complexity — from live surgical broadcasts across multiple countries to virtual masterclasses combining pre-recorded and live content.

What They Needed

Gastro Learning’s priorities were clear:

  • Technical assurance for high-stakes medical demonstrations.
  • Hybrid integration of in-person and virtual audiences.
  • Multi-location live streaming across international sites.
  • Consistent branding and stage design to reinforce credibility.
  • On-demand access to extend the reach of live education globally.

Our Approach

We built a tailored system of delivery to meet these needs:

  • London Live Endoscopy (LLE): Conducted a full site audit, planned all technical infrastructure, and built a sustainable, branded stage. Delivered live panels, pre-recorded demonstrations, and two days of live surgical content via seamless vision mixing and streaming. Edited an on-demand version viewed in over 90 countries.
  • Oesophageal Neoplasia Masterclass (ONM): Broadcast from our London studio, combining in-person lecturers, remote guest speakers, and pre-recorded content into one coherent live stream.
  • ESGE Annual Congress Days 2023: Managed simultaneous live broadcasts from London, Dublin, and Hamburg — including switching between three operating theatres in real time, streaming from endoscopic cameras, coordinating international comms, and running live Q&A across three countries.

The Results

  • Global reach: On-demand LLE content viewed in over 90 countries worldwide.
  • Seamless complexity: Flawless delivery across three international sites for ESGE 2023.
  • Credibility reinforced: Gastro Learning strengthened its position as a global leader in gastroenterology education.
  • Ongoing partnership: Following these successes, Gastro Learning continues to entrust Bombora with its most complex medical broadcasts.

The Takeaway

For Gastro Learning, the challenge wasn’t simply delivering content — it was protecting credibility and trust in a highly specialist, global field. By combining medical-grade technical delivery with hybrid accessibility, Bombora helped turn complex events into smooth, professional experiences that elevated both the content and the brand.

What This Means For You

If you’re delivering mission-critical or specialist events — whether medical, technical, or professional — credibility rests on execution. Audiences won’t forgive failure in high-stakes environments. With Bombora, you can rely on broadcast-quality hybrid and virtual delivery that makes even the most complex events look seamless, trustworthy, and global.

Services Highlighted in This Project

  • Hybrid Events:  Just as we orchestrated Gastro Learning’s London Live Endoscopy with a fully branded physical stage, live in-person panels, and simultaneous virtual streaming, we can help you deliver high-impact hybrid events that feel integrated, dynamic, and accessible across both worlds.
  • Virtual Events:  Just as we managed the virtual masterclass (ONM) and supported simultaneous live surgery streams between London, Dublin, and Hamburg for Gastro Learning, we can handle your most complex virtual needs — including remote guest contributions, real-time vision mixing, and live surgical feeds — all while maintaining medical-grade professionalism.
  • Webinars & Live Streaming:  Just as we facilitated real-time Q&A, managed communication across countries, and flawlessly streamed from endoscopic cameras inside operating rooms, we can bring the same technical expertise and calm execution to your webinars or live broadcasts — even in mission-critical environments.
  • Highlights Videos:  Just as we edited and delivered an on-demand version of LLE viewed in over 90 countries, we can ensure your live content is repackaged into valuable educational or marketing assets that continue to deliver results long after the event.

Other Services We Offer

  • Social Media Live Streaming: Take your live content beyond the platform — stream to your social channels to expand reach.
  • Branded Graphics Packages: Unify your visuals across multiple event formats with branded lower thirds, titles, and overlays tailored to your audience.
  • Promotional Services:  Generate pre-event buzz or extend post-event reach with trailers, email campaigns, and content promotion support.

From hospital theatres to virtual studios, we help experts share knowledge with clarity, confidence, and global impact.
